Louisburgh, the nearest town is 4kms away and is a popular tourist destination with numerous restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops. There are many fine sandy beaches in the area ie. Old Head, Silver Strand and Carramore, with the nearest less than 1km from the house.

Daily ferry access to the islands is from Roonagh Pier which is 2km away.

Ideal for walking holiday and hill walking with Croagh Patrick the pilgrimage mountain 15kms away and Sheeffry and Mweelrea mountains nearby.

Perfect location for touring Connemara, Leenane, Kylemore, Westport and Achill Island. Other popular pursuits close by include fresh water fishing, surfing and sailing, horse riding, as well as golf at a number of courses including championship course at Westport.
